During the cultural phenomenon of Summer 2023, marked by the simultaneous release of Barbie and Oppenheimer, I launched a playful yet strategic marketing campaign for Fabulous Frames & Art, a local, family-owned gallery and custom framing store. The goal: to increase engagement and visibility by tying into the viral “Barbenheimer” trend while highlighting two of our store’s biggest attractions—custom framing and Charley Harper artwork.
To showcase our diverse framing styles, I created a series of vibrant social media graphics inspired by Warner Bros.' Barbie promotional campaign. Each post featured a custom frame sample styled with bright colors, glittery overlays, and clever taglines mimicking Barbie's signature aesthetic. The campaign not only demonstrated the variety and personality of our framing services but also sparked notable engagement—garnering attention from both customers and major framing companies.

The second phase of the campaign spotlighted the iconic work of Charley Harper, for which Fabulous Frames & Art is the largest vendor. Inspired by the widespread humor around the Barbie/Oppenheimer contrast, I curated a collection of Harper prints that visually embodied the bubbly vs. brooding tone of the two films. Each pairing was accompanied by thoughtful captions that encouraged followers to connect with the art on a personal level, while also educating them on Harper’s legacy as an environmentalist and illustrator for science textbooks.
This project exemplified my ability to merge pop culture with brand identity, drive engagement through timely content, and creatively elevate the visibility of products and artists through thoughtful design and storytelling. I predominantly utilized Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for these projects.
