Many customers are unaware of the full range of options available to them in the custom framing process—a challenge my colleagues and I have consistently observed in our years of client interaction. To help bridge this knowledge gap and empower customers to make more informed decisions, I developed a series of educational blog posts that break down key considerations in custom framing, from material choices to design styles and preservation techniques.
Each blog post was paired with a custom-designed thumbnail, which I illustrated in a style inspired by Charley Harper to reflect the store’s unique identity. As the largest vendor of Harper’s artwork and a gallery rooted in Mid-Century Modern aesthetics, Fabulous Frames & Art draws heavily on Harper’s industrial whimsy and minimalist charm. I recognized an opportunity to more strongly incorporate this visual identity into our online presence and brand storytelling.
All thumbnails and supporting graphics were created or refined using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, with careful attention to color, form, and stylistic consistency. This project served to educate customers while reinforcing the brand’s creative voice and visual cohesion—ultimately enhancing both user experience and aesthetic impact.

In addition to designing eye-catching graphics for social media and thumbnails to promote new blog articles, I also created diagrams to help clarify complex topics. These diagrams, made in Adobe Illustrator, visually support the reader’s understanding.
The above diagram, "Anatomy of a Mat," helps customers understand the components of photo matting—a process many are unfamiliar with. Before choosing the right mat for their order, it's important that customers understand the correct terminology so they can clearly express their preferences. The graphic's accompanying article explains each labeled part and its significance.
Similarly, the "Anatomy of a Frame" diagram breaks down the essential elements of a picture frame. While framing professionals are familiar with these details, many first-time custom framing customers are not. The article "Framing 101: Choosing a Frame" explores each component, offering practical insights to guide informed decision-making.
